We started Josalis the way many small businesses begin – out of frustration. With four children between us, we'd lived through more buggies, baby hats, changing bags and buggy clips than we'd care to admit. Almost all of them were loud, plastic, disposable or quietly broken within a few weeks or months.

We wanted the opposite. Pieces that felt like the rest of our home: soft, quiet, made of natural materials, built to be passed between children – and eventually between generations. A slumber hat in organic cotton that actually helps a baby rest. A leather bag that begins life as a nappy bag and gracefully becomes the cross-body bag you wear to lunch or the office ten years later.

The Josalis name comes from our initials and those of our children. Josalis is in every sense our family business and embodies our names. Every product carries the name somewhere – stitched, embossed or simply remembered in the design. It keeps us honest. We won't put anything into the world that we wouldn't hand to them.
